Bill Ta Ho
- Civilian - - 11/7/1868 E 423 27 Bill Ta Ho was part of the civilian crew of the steamship General McPherson which was owned by the U.S. Army and operated by the Quartermaster Department. The Gen. McPherson ferried personnel and equipment between the military posts located on and around the San Francisco Bay (including Angel Island and Alcatraz). His presence in the Angel Island Cemetery hints at the import role Asian immigrants had in the development of the American west.  (The Gen. McPherson as she appeared circa 1880) |
