William Curtis
- Private USA New York - 3/13/1872 E 396 44 William Curtis was a private in Company F of the 21st United States Infantry Regiment. The 21st Infantry was created at the start of the Civil War and spent much time after the war campaigning against the Native Americans in the far west. Parts of the regiment were in California in the late 1860's and early 1870's, Company F would have been posted to Angel Island during this time. The VA database (in April 2004) noted that Curtis was originally interred in grave number 44 on Angel Island. Notes taken at the National Archives have Curtis' date of death as 3/15/1872. |
