Anthony Powers

In April of 2004 all that the US Department of Veteran's Affairs Nationwide Gravesite Locator recorded for Anthony Powers was that he was the "son (minor child) of Powers, Anthony, PVT US ARMY." Evidently they mis-transcibed the senior Powers' rank. The younger Anthony Powers' presence in the cemetery is a testimony to the childhood mortality of the times, and the enlisted men who had families with them on military posts, despite the army's attempts to discourage them. |
