Mc Allen Dependent - - 9/29/1865 E 386 11 In April of 2004 all that the US Department of Veteran's Affairs Nationwide Gravesite Locator recorded for William McAllen was that he was "Mc Allen, William, son (minor child) of Mc Allen, William." The U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs Database adds that he was originally buried in grave 11 in the Angel Island Post Cemetery. Notes from the National Archives give his mother's name as "Mary." Young William McAllen's presence in the cemetery is a testimony to the childhood mortality of the times. |
