Ellen Moore
- Dependent - - 12/16/1870 E 379 37 In April of 2004 all that the US Department of Veteran's Affairs Nationwide Gravesite Locator recorded for Ellen Moore was that she was the "daughter (minor child) of Moore, SGT US ARMY." Ellen's presence in the Angel Island Cemetery attests to the high child mortality rates of the era and the the failure of the army's attempts to discourage men with families from its ranks. Notes taken from the National Archives indicate that Moore was on Alcatraz at the time of her death. |
