Martin Hines
- Private USA California - 3/25/1874 E 308 55 Martin Hines was a private in Company E of the 21st United States Infantry Regiment. The 21st Infantry was created at the start of the Civil War and spent much time after the war campaigning against the Native Americans in the far west. Parts of the regiment were in California in the late 1860's and early 1870's, Company E would have been posted to Angel Island during this time. According to notes from a National Archives document, Hines may have served in Company K instead of E. In either case, he would have served on Angel Island. |
